Our Mission

Nurturing early learners, inspiring educators, and engaging families — together with nature

Our Philosophy

At Nature Pathways Early Learning Center, we believe that childhood is a time of wonder, exploration, and joyful learning—and that nature and animals create a powerful classroom for nurturing the whole child. We see children as capable, curious learners who are innately driven to investigate, imagine, and create. We believe that regular, meaningful engagement with the natural world and the animals on the farm nurtures well-being, inspires creativity, and strengthens children’s sense of belonging. Outdoor experiences are woven into each day, providing opportunities for risk-taking, wonder, sensory exploration, and understanding the interconnectedness of all living things.

Through the Nature Pathways curriculum, which begins with the children’s interests and curiosity, we are committed to supporting the growth of each child, socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and creatively, through high-quality, research-based practices. By prioritizing curiosity, play, and hands-on exploration, we also foster lifelong dispositions for learning such as problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and stewardship for the natural environment.

Guided by our Mission, Nurturing early learners, inspiring educators, and engaging families — together with nature, we cultivate a community where relationships are central. Educators act as observers, facilitators, and co-learners, designing experiences that spark inquiry, honor children’s ideas, and build resilience and empathy. Families are valued partners, contributing their insights, strengths, and cultural perspectives to enrich the learning community.

We invest in educators as reflective practitioners and leaders. Through ongoing professional learning, collaboration, and mentorship, we support teachers in nurturing children’s natural curiosity, honoring the diversity of learners, and cultivating a culture of inquiry within the program. Together, we strive to create an early learning environment where children feel safe, confident, and inspired; where families feel welcomed and engaged; and where educators feel empowered and connected. At Nature Pathways, we grow, wonder, and discover—together with nature.
